I am graduate member of IEEE, and also AFHEA for which I possess a SEDA award for supporting learning. I am committed to the communication of computer science and technology. In extension to which I am aware of the application of these two domains, and their influence from other domains such as (but not limited to) engineering, astrophysics, biology, fashion, art and design. I have been a participating student member of the LJMU Maker Education Working Group (MEWG) since its formation in the summer of 2014.
Curriculum Enhancement Bid – I sat on this bid to advise on maker education aims and objectives with a four person multi-disciplinary team from LJMU’s Byrom Street Faculties. The successful bid has formally recognised LJMU’s MEWG and two dozen academic staff and students as members. The bid supports the group’s activities promoting maker education across the university for the academic year 2014-2015.
Capital Expenditure Bid – I sat on this bid to liaise with multiple departments over the purchasing of maker kit for LJMU’s School of Computer Science. The successful bid has secured the school’s first 3D imaging and printing station in addition to expanding physical computing microprocessors, sensors and actuators and robotic kits for use across the School’s programmes and courses from 2014.
